Lebanon Lions Club

The FFA helped with the Hoagie sale in Lebanon on June 4, 2010.  Their mentor, Byron Earnest is not only their mentor, but he is also a Lion.  It  is not so amazing that he is also "reigning teacher of the year" in Indiana.  Congratulations, FFA.  Way to go.

That friends, is what Lionism is all about.

Lebanon Lions Club

Gene Souders, left, and Joe Williams, right, are using a commercial tomato slicer in the preparation of submarine sandwiches.  They are participating in the Lebanon Hoagie Sale at the Courthouse Square in Lebanon on June 4, 2010.    According to PDG Al McConnaha they sold 1200 sandwiches.

WOW, that's a lot of hoagie.

The cabinet meeting was held at Delphi on June 5, 2010.  For those of you who missed it:  WOW did you miss a great meeting or what?

Registration for the Cabinet meeting was flawless.  These Lions at Delphi are really orgainzed and very up to speed.
The District Cabinet Meeting had a decent attendance, and we could use more.  Lunch in Delphi was excellent, and afforded a time for general conversation, for Lions to find out what was going on in the District, and to compare notes with other clubs.

Indiana is on track to have an International Vice President.  Support for that effort requires planning and fundraising on a grand scale.  David Martinez, Brownsburg Lions Club is given recongnition by PID Wayne Madden for the efforts of the Brownsburg Club in support of Madden's attempt to become the next 2nd VP for Lions International.
What we need is passion, and Lion Mike Joyce, Clinton Lions Club, has that in abundance.  Mike addressed the cabinet on the topic of vision screening.  He described the joy that is felt when a Lion does something that  is absolutely critical.  He epitomizes the saying that:  "I am only one, but still I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And, I will not fail to do that which I can do."   Way to go Mike.

Lion Mike Joyce, Clinton Lions Club, is presented with the District Governor's Award of Appreciation.  Mike is a great Lion.

Governor Nick presents an award of appreciation to PDG Billy Chastain for his unceasing efforts in nurturing Leo Clubs.  They both know that not every effort is successful, but they are well aware that without effort nothing happens.  We should all be extremely proud of leaders that are looking to the future, and laying the foundation for future Lions.

The culmination of a great year.  Governor Nick and Gretchen are all smiles for the good fellowship, the great friendships, and the awsome dedication of the Lions in Disctrict 25-C.  They truely understand the meaning of what it means to be a Lion.  WE SERVE.

July 4th Celebration - Lions Park, Zionsville

This year’s traditional 4th of July Celebration looks to be larger than ever before, with fireworks, live concert, and family fun activities for all ages.

The fireworks won’t start until dusk, around 10 p.m., but many people come early to get good seats and enjoy great food. The Lions club has added new activities starting at 5 p.m. this year to make the time waiting for the fireworks more fun for families.

For those close enough to do so, please join the Zionsville Lions in

celebration on July 4 for fireworks and commemoration of what makes this country great.

The event was Zionsville's 80th anniversary.

President Ralph Stacy assisted Lion  Meg Julien who was impersonating Helen Keller giving her "Knights of the Blind" speech.  A very  appropriate speech, since Meg is almost totally blind herself.

Meg was the first female member in the club in1994.

The meeting was in the Zionsville Club House on May 25  Gov. Nick Xinopoulos brought greetings and encouragement from the District.  He also brought sincere appreciation for a "job well done."

The Indiana Lions Speech and Hearing Foundation is making itself know. Chairman of Trustees, PDG Al McConnaha and Trustee PDG Merle Goldman were on hand to answer questions and to spread the word about Lionism on May 1 at Fort Benjamin Harrison Park.  One thank you came form a mother who recalled that more than 20 years ago the Lions helped her son get a hearing aid.

Thanks PDG Al and PDG Merle.

Keep up the good work.

PDG Tom Slattery received a progressive Melvin Jones award from District F and then the

Indiana Lions Distinguished Lion Award for 2010

Lions who know PDG Tom Slattery were pleased, but not surprised at this award.

Congratulations PDG Tom.

You do us proud.

PDG John Ely receives a Presidential Leadership Award from International Director Doug Lozier.  The Leadership award is the third highest award that any Lion can receive.

Congratulations PDG John for many jobs well done.
